Building and Other Construction Worker (BOCW) Board has been created in each state / Union Territory to enable registration of construction workers. The Board in turn provides education, medical, old–age / disability pension and other benefits for each registered construction worker and their families. Ultimately, every registered construction worker is expected to receive financial benefits during his lifetime. Unfortunately, even after two decades of notification of the BOCW Act, it is estimated that hardly 30% of construction workers have been registered mainly due to lack of awareness amongst the workers. Today, we at Nirmana are engaged with the task of mobilizing and spreading awareness amongst the construction workers to ensure their registration on time. Each year, we help approx. 30,000 construction workers in Delhi. Your donation will support the cost of registering one construction worker in the Board by engaging community mobilizers and pay for their honorarium, travel, mobile and stationery cost. Cost for registering a worker: Honorarium to community mobilizer – Rs. 150 Travel reimbursement – Rs. 100 Mobile/communication related cost – Rs. 25 Stationery, photocopying, data entry etc – Rs. 25 Total cost to register a construction worker – Rs. 300 Cost of registering 3 workers – Rs. 900
